Age Bands shown here are merely estimates/guides, and will largely depend on a pupil’s birth date in relation to the start of a new academic year. As with all British Schools in Dubai, Senior School starts in Year 7 and runs through to Year 13. In Year 10 to 11 pupils complete their GCSEs. In Year 12 to 13 pupils can choose one of many graduation pathways such as British A Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), or a BTEC in Business, Sports or Performing Arts. Kent College Dubai is also a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate Career-related Certificate and pursuing authorization as an IB World School to offer the IBCP.
British Curriculum Schools divide their learning journey into stages: Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Key Stage 5 is often referred to as the Sixth Form. Use the diagram below to see which year groups belong to which Key Stage. If you are new to the British Curriculum and are not sure of your child’s equivalency, please have a look at the table at the bottom of our Admissions page.
