Dubai, UAE: Kent College Dubai, a British curriculum school for children aged 3 to 18 in Nad al Sheba 2, has announced an affiliation with The Urdang Academy, one of the UK’s finest performing arts colleges and internationally renowned conservatoire of dance and musical theatre.
The Urdang Academy in partnership with Kent College Dubai will provide dance, music and acting master classes, workshops, summer camps and audition preparation for those applying to Performing Arts conservatoires, and, from 2021, will host the Urdang International Dance competition.
The first Commercial Dance Masterclass and Jazz Masterclass commence Wednesday 22nd January. The workshops will be taught by two leading industry professionals: Claudimar Neto and Niall Sword. Claudimar will lead the commercial dance workshop. He is currently touring with Little Mix, and has also appeared as a dancer on shows such as ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and ‘The X-Factor’. Niall will lead the jazz workshop. He has performed in shows such as ‘Sinatra’ The London Palladium, ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ ITV, ‘Cinderella’ The London Palladium, ‘Tanz Der Vampire’ German Tour, and ‘Bat Out of Hell.
Founded by Leonie Urdang in 1970, and now run by her daughter Solange, the Urdang Academy seeks to break barriers in performing arts and brings with it a vision of diversity and inclusivity.
