Welcome from the Principal
“It is my sincere pleasure to welcome and introduce you to our Top International British School in Dubai – Kent College Dubai.
KCD was established in 2016 as an international arm of the illustrious Kent College in Canterbury, UK. I am honoured to be a member of the Kent College family and to grow the school’s excellence and continue its 135-year legacy here in the UAE.
The strong connection Kent College Dubai has with our Kent College Canterbury family epitomizes and enhances the profound, personal experience that we provide our students and families. As a leader and a father of internationally educated children, I understand the need for community and compassion in education; more so than ever, as we deal with the recent global challenges and future volatility and uncertainty. Kent College Dubai truly is such a community, where our core values of respect, tolerance and integrity are inherent.
I recognise the role of self-esteem on children’s success and the barriers that we as parents face in educating our children abroad. At Kent College Dubai, I believe that supporting every student in maintaining and celebrating their sense of personal identity is key to their success, and a pivotal factor in the high levels of academic attainment that we continue to witness as a school.
Pastoral care has always been central to our vision at our sister school in the UK and here at Kent College Dubai. Recent times, however, have prompted an even greater prioritisation of the well-being of our students, teachers and our parents. We as leaders and teachers acknowledge the value of parent involvement and support. Our facility and staff are here for you as much as we are here for your children, as we are all integral members of the KCD family.
Our pastoral system is based on a House structure mirroring that of KCC. The four houses of Augustine, Becket, Chaucer and Marlowe provide a deep sense of belonging and pride for our pupils and promote nurturing relationships between our older and younger students, whereby all are encouraged to reach their potential.
At KCD, we aim to be the best British school in Dubai, and as such we pride ourselves on the happiness and retention of our world class educators. We know that the calibre of your child’s teacher and their personal relationship will be vital to their success. Due to our high expectations and our reputation of being a school where staff are highly valued, we are able to recruit and retain the very best educators. Our teachers are fully supported by a rich professional development programme of relevant and authentic learning, which is ultimately aimed at understanding and meeting the needs of every child in their care.
KCD students’ self-assurance and identity is enriched through our commitment to valuing their individuality and supporting you as parents in offering choice and opportunity. We collaborate with you as parents to provide an individual educational pathway that recognises your child’s interests, passions, learning styles and abilities, as well as your future plans, hopes and dreams for your child.
We excite, engage and extend our pupils through various performance pathways. In addition to our extensive extracurricular and sporting provision in our world class school facilities, we offer choice of academic and career-related pathways:
we are an International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School*
- A level programme
- three accredited BTEC programmes
- the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
- Sports Leadership Courses
- the International Award (Duke of Edinburgh)
At Kent College Dubai, we remain committed to providing your children with an exceptional, happy and individualised school life that will cultivate them into ambitious young people who fulfill their potential on the pitch and in the classroom, who are proud of their uniform, their moral fortitude and their personal bearing.
At KCD, every day is an “Open Day” and our team and leaders are ever available to meet with you or answer your questions. I sincerely hope to get the chance to meet with you and for you to personally witness the excellence and uniqueness of Kent College Dubai.”
Anthony Cashin Principal, Kent College Dubai

“It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Kent College and to our school community.
Located on the outskirts of the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury, our school is proud of both its 135+ years of history and tradition, and of its forward-looking, innovative approach to education. We are a school that welcomes all pupils of every faith and none, and celebrates diversity in all aspects of our school life. ‘Do all the good you can do’ is a guiding principle, and one that allows pupils to grow and develop into confident young adults, aware of their responsibilities and their place in the world.
It’s really important for us here in Canterbury, and for me personally, to maintain close links with our sister school in Dubai. Mr Cashin and I meet online at least once a week, I meet with the school’s owners regularly, and as a member of the board, I visit the school regularly. Perhaps most important are our shared values and our educational philosophy to help all our young people to achieve their potential, and to play a positive part in the world and the future.
Dr David Lamper, Executive Head of the Kent College Family of Schools and
Principal of our sister school Kent College Canterbury, England
